Kym Boyce, also known as Kymani Mocha Jade, was born and raised in the home of the Harlem Renaissance, giving birth to a high-spirited Creative, committed to student advocacy, community empowerment and Arts in Education. She is a Poet and Multimedia Artist passionate about Social Action and the Arts and Culture of the African diaspora with a special focus on Mental Wellness and Restorative Justice. She holds an Associate in Arts degree in Communication Studies with a concentration in Multimedia Art and Design from the Borough of Manhattan Community College, lived and studied Linguistics, Literature and the Language Arts abroad at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus in Barbados, and is currently pursuing a baccalaureate degree at the City University of New York’s City College in Literary, Media Visual Arts. Kymani is the Creator of the Nu Afrikan Artivist Movement, a progressive initiative with a vision to uplift social and cultural consciousness, promote self-determination and create transformative media and dynamic art.
