Tracey Bey Johnson

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

With a background that includes senior design roles for luxury and mass retailers, Tracey Bey Johnson is a talented design specialist with nearly 20 years of experience focusing on both industrial and graphic design.

She is the Founder and Principal Designer at Trace Paper Art + Design, a boutique stationery and branding company that uses intricate hand-printed and graphic design techniques. Trace Paper Art + Design specializes in strategic branding and consulting for retail firms and corporations and digital and printed products including stationery, invitations, and merchandising for special life and corporate events.

In prior roles, Tracey has designed multi-million dollar gifting and holiday lines for luxury and mass retailers including Macy’s, NYC icon- Henri Bendel, and Martha Stewart’s home goods collections.

She holds a BA from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design in Painting and Printmaking, where she was a President’s Scholar. Tracey enjoys sharing her passion for art and design with others, and taught printmaking at RISD and led weekly art classes for senior communities and at-risk youth during her time in Rhode Island.

Tracey has continued to show her passion for volunteering through a number of community service initiatives based in the greater New York City area. Tracey’s perspective as a public school graduate and as the daughter of dedicated educators who served Newark’s public schools for over 30 years drives her appreciation of arts education’s unique positive impact. She is grateful for her exposure to the arts that led to her rewarding educational and career journeys. Tracey joined CWP because of its great promise for students— one class, one student, one poem, and one mural at a time.
