Bright Spot - IS 75

The 7th-grade students at IS 75 have been working on a mural in their CWP class. Mrs. Deegan, their science teacher, has explained to teaching artists Ron and Melissa that she teaches HIV during the third marking period as it flows well after doing the body systems, especially the immune system. Ron and Melissa wanted to honor her timeline by bringing in artists who have been affected by the disease. They presented the students with Keith Haring’s work and invited them in small groups to produce their own “street art style” works of art. The students' artwork and writing on the topic have been very open-minded and poignant.
